Plans for Samhain 17: Flash-rite Pub Moot are progressing well! Many folks have volunteered to play parts in the Mummer's Play, but several crucial roles remain to be filled:

Mark your calendars for the dates and times of the 2 rehearsals:
The first one will be Friday October 7th from 8 - 10 pm at the Covenstead at 113 Clinton Avenue in West Asheville, NC. (If your role includes reciting lines, have them thoroughly memorized prior to attending).
The second one, a dress rehearsal, will be the following Friday, October 14th from 8 - 10 pm, also at the Covenstead. (Arrive in your planned costume complete with capes, masks, make-up on, etc.). For directions to the Covenstead, email us or call (828) 251-0343.
On another note, we're very sad to report that Chris Peterson, former Asheville City Councilman and ironically, the owner of Magnolia's Restaurant, recently cut down the very old Merrimon Magnolia we've been trying to save for the past 2 years via our Facebook postcard campaign. Now Harris-Teeter, who leases the land from Peterson, is free to build a new, unneeded grocery store.
We grieve for the tree's loss at the hands of the greedy, and through the media have warned those enabling this travesty that they may very well end up faring as badly as the magnolia itself.
