BUT FIRST: Our Samhain rite this year -- "Love is the Law", a mass handfasting/wedding for all couples who want their union Witchily blessed, be they gay or straight, legally recognized or discriminated against by North Carolina's newly amended state constitution -- is likely to be a blockbuster, so WE NEED YOUR HELP to reserve immediately the central downtown Asheville space where it will be held. $25 will allow us to file the application and hold the space; permit fees will run to several hundred dollars.

Casting spells for Abundance in Magical Script on Lucky paper offered to the Gods via cauldron fire.
Dress in Witchy black and bring Scotch or Whiskey spirits, or Stella Artois (or similar summertime ale), which are solar and sacred to the season — and a snack to share, please.

Coven Oldenwilde and volunteers run a beverage wristband booth which helps fund our religious non-profit work.
Volunteers who work a total of 8 or more hours receive an Oldenwilde T-shirt (emblazoned with the image shown here and at: http://oldenwilde.org/). Volunteers also will be invited to attend Lammas at the Covenstead the following Friday and learn about their past lives.
Dress in your T-shirt and skirt, shorts, or jeans.

Asheville’s 18th Annual Free Public Witch Ritual designed to magically counter
Amendment One
At a central downtown location, the High Priestess & *High Priest will lead a procession and then conduct legal weddings, vow renewals, and traditional hand-fastings for all couples assembled -- gay, straight, common-law, polyamorous, etc. (But humans only, please!)
After the couples “jump the broom”, we’ll finale with a Spiral Dance, then share a celebratory toast at a tavern nearby. (We'll publicize the details of the location as soon as it's reserved.)
Dress in romantic Witchy finery. Bring Spirits & snacks in abundance for the Afterparty!!!
Afterparty is restricted to ritual volunteers — RSVP in advance to participate and for directions to the Covenstead.
