Asheville's 14th Annual Free Public Witch Ritual
Masked Dancing & Divination
... continued ...
"Death" with tombstones & luminaries Since our saving Asheville’s downtown magnolia tree from a developer’s chainsaw had been a Coven project all year, we designated a tree in the center of the circling field to be our ritual dance focus.  Tree with altars, torches around it
Tree bedecked with beads, Quarter altars, tombstones, luminaries, and skeletal decor. View larger. View of whole tree, surrounded by four altars in the four directions.

To fashion each of our four altars we used four milk crates under a plywood rectangle, and adorned it with drapes and accoutrements (recycled from previous years’ Samhain decor) corresponding to that Quarter.
