- If you are coming from the North
(via Hwy 19/23 to I-240E) or the East,
get onto I-40 West. Take Asheville Exit 47 for
Hwy 191/Brevard Rd. Turn Right off the exit ramp, continue
over a bridge. At next stoplight, go Right onto I-240
East, STAY IN FAR RIGHT LANE, take next exit (Exit 1-C)
onto Amboy Road. On the Right, just after getting
onto Amboy, you will see the former Speedway racetrack (now a
park); this is the best place to park
your car and shuttle to the site. Or, continue on Amboy,
with the river on your right, to French Broad River Park
entrance (marked by small grey obelisks) on your Left.

- If you are coming from the South
(via I-26W toward Asheville) or West,
get onto I-40 East. Take Asheville Exit 46-B ON
YOUR LEFT onto I-240 East. Take Exit 1-C onto Amboy
Road. On the Right, just after getting onto Amboy,
you will see the former Speedway racetrack (now a park); this
is the best place to park
your car and shuttle to the site. Or, continue on Amboy,
with the river on your right, to French Broad River Park
entrance (marked by small grey obelisks) on your Left.

- PARKING at the French Broad
River Park is very limited. There is some parking close by and
along Amboy Road's shoulder, but the best place to park is
at the former Asheville Motor Speedway racetrack (now a park),
which is on your Right just after you get onto Amboy Road. The
drawback is that it's too far to walk safely from there to the
Park.
- If you have a van, SUV or large car, please consider
volunteering to shuttle people from the racetrack to the
Park. (We will reserve some spaces at the Park for shuttles to
park in.)
- Taxicabs will be on call; if you don't see one, call
one of the following numbers on a cell phone:
